A comprehensive condition assessment and operations and maintenance planning effort was conducted for the Minneapolis VA Medical Center’s four-level parking structure. Working with teaming partner and structural engineer of record, MBJ, the project evaluated the structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to identify deficiencies affecting long-term performance, safety, and maintainability while developing prioritized recommendations for future repairs and preventative maintenance.

The multidisciplinary team performed detailed site investigations, structural assessments, LiDAR scanning, and photographic documentation to create an accurate record of existing conditions. As Prime AE, Triple C developed construction documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, and a comprehensive Operations & Maintenance Manual that provides VA maintenance personnel with inspection procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, and guidance for preserving the facility’s service life. The project also implemented phased repair designed to maintain parking availability and minimize disruption to hospital operations throughout future construction activities.
